In today's industrial production, safety and efficiency are no longer contradictory propositions, but rather complementary wings. Traditional safety technologies, while reliable, are gradually showing bottlenecks in diagnostic capabilities, flexibility, and data integration. It is against this backdrop that Pilz has introduced IO-Link Safety technology, opening up a new dimension for safety communication.
IO-Link Safety is a point-to-point serial communication protocol based on the open international standard IEC 61139-1. It is essentially a safety extension of the proven IO-Link standard, allowing standard and safety-related data to be transmitted over the same standard three-wire unshielded cable.
